During five years in the reserves after armor branch, he completed his Doctor of Ministry and was ordained in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He served two years in a civilian pastorate with his wife, Rev. Dr. Ruth Ann Moran, before returning to active duty. The Moran’s have two daughters and three grandsons.
