Geoffrey Moran served nearly twenty-five years on active duty, five of them as an armor officer in Germany, Vietnam and the US, and nineteen more years as an Army chaplain. During five years in the reserves after armor branch, he completed his Doctor of Ministry and was ordained in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He served two years in a civilian pastorate with his wife, Rev. Dr. Ruth Ann Moran, before returning to active duty. The Morans have two daughters and four grandkids. Geoff taught world religions at a community college. Geoff’s wife of 46 years died in 2018 and he married Helen Johnson in 2022. He continues playing drums and vibes in several jazz groups, and is a frequent guest preacher at several local churches.
