Bruce spent 23+ years as an Infantry Officer, retiring in 1992 as an LTC. His last tour of duty was as the Liaison Officer from V(US) Corps to III(DE) Corps, where he was embedded in the German General Staff. One of his duties was to sit as a member on the Council of 11 Fools in the Corps’ Carnival Club, one of 55 clubs in Koblenz. (Some would say he was a natural.)
That was one of his two favorite jobs, the other was as commander, C Co, 1/10 SF in Bad Tölz, Germany, the only all German-speaking company in the Army.
After 15 years in Germany, Bruce’s children and grandchildren, dual citizens, multi-cultural and bi-lingual, all ended up living and working in Berlin, Germany, which is where Bruce and Ingrid spend several months each year. For the remainder of the year, Bruce is on-call to FEMA where he helps disaster survivors.
